Design follows question, not ambition. Begin by stating the question in PICO or PECO form and note the exposure timing you can actually observe.
If you cannot access participants, a secondary or database-based design is not a lesser option — it is the correct option.
Feasibility is a methodological criterion, not an administrative one. An under-powered prospective study is weaker evidence than a well-executed secondary analysis.
